Fitness Classes
Fitness classes are NOCA classes where we don't use the aerial equipment, such as Conditioning, and dance classes. These classes are $10 each, or $80 for a package of 10. Advance registration online is required for ALL NOCA classes!Contents
Dance Body
A cardio dance class to break loose and have fun. The class begins with high energy warm up followed by learning choreography to various pop songs - the idea is to get out of your mind and into your body! Open to ages 14+.
Dance Improv
For any and all movers! Class will begin with a short warm up and lead into a series of prompts for dancers to create! Starting small and leading to individual pieces based on different prompts dancers may also bring in material they would like to work with and build on. Open to ages 14+.
Beginning Ballet
Open to all levels. Intro into ballet for first timers or dancers who want to take it back to basics. A traditional ballet class with barre, center and across the floor combinations.
There are many options locally for ballet classes for kids, but very few for adults. This class is exclusively for adults!
Musical Theater
If you have a showtune in your heart but you're missing the dance moves to go along with it, this is the class for you! From Fosse to classic broadway shows like Oklahoma! we will learn choreography inspired by a wide variety of musical stories! Vocals accepted but not required. Open to ages 14+.
Sexy Floorwork
Come roll around on the floor and explore your sexy side in this floor dance class! Inspired by Contemporary and Hip Hop dance styles this class will let students explore a fun style of sensual dance and floor-work that can also be used with aerial or pole! In this class students will start with a thorough full-body warm up and then students will learn a short floor-based choreography made by the instructor taking it step by step. This class can also help improve flow and flexibility! All levels welcome! Heels or socks recommended! Open to ages 18+.
Chair Dance
This class will explore sensual movement dance style while using the chair as a dance apparatus and partner. Expect to learn fun, sexy, and challenging choreo! Starting with a full body warm up, class will consist of learning chair dance poses, tricks, and sequences that will lead into a full 1-2 minute choreography. Open to all levels and bodies! Heels or socks recommended. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable for movement to class. Open to ages 18+.
Strut
Strut is an all levels, no dance experience required, class that will explore the FUNdamentals of Cabaret Burlesque in a safe and supportive atmosphere. This series is trauma informed, body positive and affirming, and open to all genders/sexes. Strut is all about connecting to your inner sexy self, empowerment, and most of all - fun! Attire: Whatever makes you feel sexy and what you can move in! Heels are always fun to dance in but not required. Open to ages 18+.
Conditioning
Come take floor conditioning and make progress to your goals both on the ground and in the air! Class will begin with a cardio warm up to bring up heart rate and body temperature, and will move into a bodyweight workout that targets important muscles for circus. This full body class will help improve strength in all parts of the body, with a focus on the core, shoulders, and hip flexors. Class will end with a cool down stretching session to help improve recovery and flexibility. Open to all skill levels.
Juggling
Juggling classes for adults are available by request. We often have casual juggling practice time during Open Gym, and we're happy to teach beginners! This is free! Just call ahead and let us know if you're coming to Open Gym to juggle. Open to ages 15+. We offer private lessons in juggling for adults, or kids aged 7+. We can also help you plan trips to amazing regional juggling festivals and conferences, including the Atlanta Groundhog's Day Juggling Festival, the International Jugglers Association Festival, and the Asheville Juggling Festival! Attending one of these events is truly the best way to learn about the art of juggling!
